Love this tote bag! I had a few mishaps with the pattern, specifically issues with the pieces stating to cut one piece of fabric for almost all pieces, but nothing that I couldn’t sit down and actually think about before cutting!
I also wish that there was a more detailed written version of instructions, but following the YouTube video wasn’t an issue. I am just that person who would rather read and then watch if I get confused on a part, all personal preference!
This last note is nothing towards the pattern, but be mindful of what pieces you cut first. I ended up having to cut my handle straps just a few inches shorter, and of course, it affected how this tote can be carried. Not a big deal, but had I cut them first I would’ve had no issues.
Overall, this tote is great and I think a good sew!

I have NEVER used a pattern before. I have barely used a sewing machine. So this may have been a very ambitious first project. I used some upholstery fabric for the straps, so that made it trickier since it was thicker. But I MADE A BAG!!!!!!!!! And it’s not perfect but I love it and I cannot wait to try more. The video that accompanies this pattern was truly the best part! Seeing it was necessary for a beginner.
